We are so thankful each time we have the chance to meet new people.  Meet the “W” family and check out their recent family session with JSi.  Little Mr. “C” is quite honestly the happiest kiddo, never without a smile, for real folks.  He had a lot of fun hangin’ with us this day.  So, check out some of our favorite images from the amazing session with the “W’s.”  One of my faves … check out the puppy dog’s face in the second image … love it!!  How can you not love that face?  Oh, but there are so many great moments.  Doesn’t that image of mother and son just melt your heart?

If you have been hanging around with JSi long enough or have been one our brides and grooms, you probably know about our wedding video we show.  Well, we were talking and decided our wedding video was getting a bit dated (if you are on it, don’t start feeling like an old couple, although you might be..kidding).

 We just felt it was time to mix it up a bit….add a few images…take a few out.  We talked about wanting the new video to be a longer compilation of the style we shoot throughout the day.  From the meaningful details that bride’s have put so much thought into (sorry grooms, you know you didn’t help), to those special moments that occur throughout the day in a blink of an eye, to the stunning images of the bride and groom.

Well, here it is.  The 2012 JSi Weddings video.  Relax, pop some popcorn (but don’t put all of it in a bowl because it really isn’t that long of a video), and enjoy the peeks into many of our JSi couple’s big days!

Meet Nikole, Tonganoxie Class of 2012.  We made an evening of  the shoot and spent some time down around the KCMO City Market.  With multiple locations, a few different clothing changes, and at times playing with some fun off camera lighting…..we give the session and overwhelming thumbs up!

So if you or someone you know in the Class of 2013 needs some great Senior Photos to hand out and hang on your walls……and would LOVE a fun alternative to your boring school shots….give us a shout!  Right now is the time to get those sessions on the books!

This session was amazing for so many reasons!  Part of it started in one of our favorites session styles….lifestyle.  A low key, relaxed approach into documenting your family as they are and who they are.  We spent a bit of time just hanging out with this wonderful family in their house while they just played before moving to the park where we met…..the stick.  :-)     This family also made the session amazing!  They were a blast to hang out with.  They were so relaxed and real….and that made for some amazing images where you could see their true personalities and love.

“BEHOLD……STICK”

Everybody, meet little “A.”

You might not recognize “A,” but if you have been browsing the JSi blog anytime since last fall, you will recognize her family!  If you would like a little refresher, check this post!

 We love the lifestyle feel of this shoot.  Just going into this awesome family’s home…capturing them as they are and who they are… in their everyday environment.  The whole shoot lends to a laid back and natural peek into their lives….and the images show that.  The documentary feel this session creates not only gives someone great memories and art for their wall, but tells an AMAZING story in an album.

You probably recognize this couple from a recent blog post of their engagement photos…if you don’t, you need to check out their awesome night photo shoot here!

But today….their wedding!

The wedding took place at the beautiful Second Baptist Church in Liberty, Mo.  A gorgeous  location for a gorgeous ceremony!  Family and friends filed in and packed the church to witness these two tie the knot.  It was an amazing show of support from those close to them.

After the ceremony, everyone gathered for the reception at The Sawyer Room in downtown Kansas City, MO.  They chose this venue for it’s grand appearance and golden colors to go with their wedding style modeled from the Great Gatsby .  Matt & Callie’s day would not be complete with at least a few appearances by Team Bunny Muffin…you have to look through the images if you are not in the know.

A few special items that stood out to Mike & Julie:

~Probably the biggest thing that was apparance was how PROUD Callie’s father was.  From the first time he saw her on the wedding day in her dress….he…beamed!  The way in which he looked at her throughout the day was priceless.

~The Toast:  They were truely from the heart…from Libby, Callie’s sister and Maid of Honor, and the Bridesmaids presentation complete with storyboards to the Best Man and both of the father’s.  You could see the love and closeness from them all.

~The classy and beautiful design to the whole day.

Meet Nate and Dana!

We had a blast hanging out with these two one Saturday in late January for their E-session. Both Dana and Nate live out of town, so they drove up to Kansas City to spend their morning with us.  Dana was a trooper, just because it has been a fairly warm winter so far…..this was not one of those days.  So after strolling around the City Market for a while, we stopped in for a bit to sip on some coffee (and hot chocolate) to build up our internal furnaces for some more outdoor shooting.  Our next stop was Liberty Memorial and a softball field nearby.  Softball is a big deal to Dana…..due to her being an awesome softball coach!

It was great to get to know these two a bit more and to hear about how they met!  We can’t wait until their wedding this August and to spend more time with them.

Oh…you know how I said Dana was a trooper…well, I would have to say they both were.  Remember how I told you they had to travel to Kansas City for the session.  Well, they came up the night before and someone, not saying who, forgot a certain clothing item for the session that is important  to have when going out in public.  So the two, not familiar with the area, traveled to several locations looking for the clothing needed to not get arrested the next day.  They did not let this affect them one bit…they were still able to get their “model” on!
